Petite Stitchery: Maize Keyhole Tunic and Dress
I am so glad I chose to make Petite Stitchery: Maize Keyhole Tunic and Dress. I had this sweet flirty kisses fabric that I had been hoarding and thought it would be perfect for Valentine\’s day.
The Maize Keyhole Tunic and Dress is packed with several options. It has a keyhole opening for over the head ease ,making it easier for children to dress themselves. It is a woven tunic or dress and prefect for any quilting cotton, denim or poplin you may have in your stash. I am going to challenge myself to make Maize Keyhole Tunic and Dress with taffeta or Paduasoy (silk woven) for Easter. I totally can visualize Maize as a special occasion dress as well.
Maize also, has 3 sleeve lengths with adorned cuffs. I am usually anti-set in sleeves. But I have to admit Maize sleeves were so easy to sew. I gathered the sleeves per the instructions and the set right in.
The bodice is perfect for embellishments like a faux button placket, fringe trim or a sweet ruffle like I added. To add a ruffle like the one seen here take width of fabric times 2.5 inches. I gathered using two rows. When attaching the side bodice be sure to pin the ruffle away from the seam.
It can be mashed with the Ruby which I will definitely be trying so stay tuned.
Maize Keyhole Tunic and Dress is now on sale for $6.00. You don\’t want to miss out on this. Maize Keyhole Tunic and Dress is the perfect staple in your little darlings wardrobe.
